Mix Locker is a newly-released, free mixing suite from Audio Assault, the developer behind Amp Locker, Bass Locker, and freebies like BassTR.
Mix Locker is similar to IK Multimedia’s MixBox, a virtual collection of 500 series modules.
The free Mix Locker comes with ten modules, with additional modules and bundles available for purchase.
The included modules are:
- Gate – noise gate
- AA Verb – algorithmic reverb
- Delay – digital multitap delay
- BLK Compressor – peak compressor
- Deeser – de-esser
- Chorus – chorus effect
- RED Compressor – soft peak compressor
- G-EQ – graphics EQ with proportional Q
- ParametriQ – 5-band parametric EQ
HPLP – filters with adjustable Q
As you can see, you get a decent selection with the free Mix Locker.
If you’ve used IK Multimedia’s MixBox or Slate Digital’s Mix Rack, you’ll be familiar with the workflow provided by this sort of collection.
The drag-and-drop functionality allows you to create FX chains quickly for any task and removes the sometimes convoluted method of stacking one plugin after another and another.
Key features (per module) include linear-phase oversampling and stereo/mid-side processing.
There are two ways you can get your hands on Mix Locker:
The first option is to download it for free with ten modules, as mentioned above, and purchase additional modules as you please.
Alternatively, you can pick up the Analog Bundle (15 modules) for a limited time for $49.99 (usually $159.58). Single modules are available with a 50% discount during the sale, bringing them down to $5.
Audio Assault has digitally recreated many classic hardware units, such as the Vene 107BL vintage mic preamp or the L2A2 vintage opto compressor, which you’ll identify by their subtly disguised names.
The second way to get Mix Locker is the $5 monthly subscription plan. Although you won’t own the modules outright like you would if you purchase them individually, you’ll get access to all modules and all new additions for the duration of your subscription (cancel anytime).
A subscription includes all Amp Locker products, excluding 3D cab add-on packs and signature amp sims.
All Mix Locker modules are compatible with Amp Locker.
