EMW has introduced three new Eurorack modules: Wave-6, a polyphonic wavetable synth voice, Mini-3 with Minimoog oscillators, and a Noise Bank.
The company EMW (Electronic Music Works) is from Brazil. For many years, they have been producing affordable synths and Eurorack modules. It’s like Doepfer but from South America.
For the Eurorack world, EMW today introduced three exciting new modules that are once again very affordable: Wave-6, Mini-3, and Noise Bank.

EMW Wave-6 Mini-3 and Noise Bank
The new Wave-6 is a new 6-voice digital polyphonic synth voice for Eurorack, controllable via the dedicated MIDI input socket. Indeed, there is no 1v/oct input, just a gate input.
EMW Wave-6 features a digital engine with 128 factory wavetables in its memory. You can tweak these with the wave morphing and wave cut (similar to PWM) parameters.
Also onboard is an integrated ADSR with control over the attack, decay, sustain, and release. However, it cannot be operated with individual knobs, but via the encoder and menu. It also hosts an internal LFO with adjustable frequency.
Then, it also has a built-in VCA controlled by the ADSR envelope. According to EMW, the Wave-6 responds to pitch-bend and mod wheel data. The latter can trigger, for example, the built-in LFO.
On the I/O side, it has CV inputs for the wave morphing function and another CV for the wave cut modulation effects, which work like PWM. Plus, it has a gate input and a main output.
Minimoog Oscillators
In addition to the new Wave 6, EMW introduced the Mini 3, a unique digital oscillator module for Eurorack. It’s inspired by the legendary Moog Minimoog’s triple oscillator design but with modern control—no information on whether it is an analog or digital oscillator core.
It features three independent oscillators with six waveforms (triangle, miniwave, ramp, square, pulse 1, and pulse 2 with EMW’s unique analog-style variations). You can tweak them independently with various parameters, including octave, fine-tune, and volume.
Like the EMW Wave 6, the Mini 3 offers a built-in LFO, glide, and MIDI support. Handy, it also has internal memory for saving oscillator settings, MIDI configurations, and more. All this is programmable with the built-in OLED display and a single encoder.
On the connection side, you have a TRS MIDI input, gate output, and an audio output. Yes, again no 1v/oct input.
Colorful Noises
The third and last new EMW module is Noise Bank, a new, colorful noise generator. It has 142 types of internal noise, divided into seven categories: basic, filtered, vowels, process, phased, cycled, and decay.
It has a trigger input that allows you to synchronize the triggering of cyclic or decay effects. On the front panel, you have a display, an encoder, a frequency control, and inputs for the frequency mod, trigger in, and audio out.
EMW Wave-6… First Impression
Three exciting, affordable modules. It’s a shame there are no demos, and the modules are only available in Brazil from the developer’s page.
EMW Wave-6 is available now for $198, Mini-3 for $158, and Noise Bank for $158. All prices are MSRP, and the modules have black or silver front panels.
