SynthFest France 2025 will take place between April 11 and 13 in Nantes, and Synth Anatomy will bring you video coverage of the latest synths.
The Synthesizer event season is in full swing. The next event is around the corner after NAMM, Buchla & Friends, Synth East, and London Synth & Pedal.
In two weeks, SynthFest France, a three-day cozy synth event featuring many local and European synth developers, will take place in Nantes. Synth Anatomy is again in Nantes to cover all the news.
SynthFest France 2025
SynthFest is the meeting place for Synthesizer manufacturers and electronic musical instrument enthusiasts in France. The organisation, a lovely team of hard-working synth enthusiasts, describes the event with these words
Neither a trade show nor a festival in the traditional sense, SynthFest France is a space where sounds come to life, ideas are exchanged, and projects are born. Exhibitions, demonstrations, conferences, workshops, concerts, and musical performances will punctuate these four intense days, dedicated to creativity and networking.
This year’s event will take place between April 11 and 13. For professionals (developers, distributors, studios, press, etc.), SynthFest France 2025 will open on April 10. I’m happy about this, as it allows for more relaxed and comfortable video recordings. Thanks, SFF team.
Developers
As in previous years, I’m focusing my visit on the developers in the big hall. There are currently 95 participants registered, but not all have a booth or a product to offer.
On the one hand, many classic Synthesizer manufacturers from France and neighboring European countries are expected. Like in previous years, distributors represent the big names, including Moog, Yamaha, Roland, Korg, Oberheim, Sequential, ASM, Novation, Alex 4, B4 (Waldorf, Sonicware, etc.), and others.
Boutique developers like Fred’s Lab, Kiviak Instruments, Embodme, SynthR, Baloran, CymaForma, Kodamo, and others will also have booths at SFF 2025.
SynthFest France 2025 is also very modular-friendly. While in 2023, there were fewer manufacturers, the number of manufacturers has increased significantly last year and also this year. There will be well-known names from the European Eurorack:
- Ape Performance Electronics
- Alfa Delta
- ThreeTom Modular
- HalfTime Modular
- Klavis
- Shakmat
- Bastl Instruments
- BVR Instruments
- Joranalogue
- Nanopolis
- …
A lot of new things to discover. Alongside the hot new instruments, there will also be an impressive vintage Synthesizer corner organized by Oliver Grall and Yves Usson, creator of the Arturia Minibrute Synthesizer.
Last year, the focus was very much on vintage Roland synths. I’m curious to see where this year’s journey takes us.
Raffle
Like in previous years, SynthFest France is not an event designed to line the organizers’ pockets. It is a purely community-focused event, with proceeds primarily generated through the traditional raffle/tombola.
Also, this year, you can win various hardware synthesizers and other music tech gear sponsored by the developers. You can win an Arturia Polybrute 12, Korg multi/poly, Fred’s Lab Manatee, Embodme Erae 2, Yamaha CS-20M, and more this year.
Tickets are available now for 10€, and the number of tickets is limited to 2000. The drawing will be on Sunday, April 13, 2025. You don’t have to be there to participate and win. The raffle proceeds will be used entirely to finance the event, so taking part is a good deed.
Video Coverage
For the third time in a row, I will travel to Nantes to join the French Synthesizer community for four cozy days in France. You can expect many Synthesizer news in video and written form from SynthFest France 2025. So stay tuned.
